Latch Solenoid Valves operate at much lower power than Standard Solenoid Valves, providing more energy savings.
Latch valves are valves operating with energy-saving DC coils in which the normally open or closed valve position is changed by reverse pulses given as short as 200 ms. There is no need to constantly energize to keep the valve in the changed position; When it is desired to change the position again, it is sufficient to give a pulse of 200 ms in the opposite direction. With the electronic control circuit, it is possible to operate the valve as normally closed or open depending on preference.
Operation of Latch Solenoid Valves:
In Latch Solenoid Valves, a permanent magnet is placed at the top of the valve that does not require electrical input. The area of this small magnet is not enough to activate the piston. In addition, when the valve is opened at full power, the permanent magnet is strong enough to keep the valve open. This allows the valve to remain open after the initial electrical power is turned off, resulting in significant potential energy savings. The valve will remain open until another electrical charge of opposite polarity is applied. It is very useful in situations where the valve is left open for a long time or is battery operated and needs to save as much energy as possible.
