Steam traps or steam traps are installation elements used to evacuate the condensate formed as a result of condensation in steam systems. For many years, "trap" as our language a false designation by (condensate, is stopped or stop, such as a sense carries) entered and this is wrong nomenclature, technical practitioners have given rise to misunderstandings. But nowadays, "steam trap" expressed my commonplace and It started to settle in our Turkish with its correct meaning.

Steam traps have three main functions;

1. To drain the condensate formed,
2. To prevent steam from escaping during evacuation, to trap the steam (here it means),
3. evacuating air and non-condensable gases.
